2010 AT&T MLS ALL STAR GAME
The 2010 MLS All Star game featured Major League Soccer’s best against soccer superpower Manchester United. United dominated the matchup 5-2, with goals from Frederico Macheda (2), Darron Gibson, Tom Cleverly and Javier Hernandez. The MLS All Stars were led by two local Houston Dynamo products, with Brian Ching and former Dynamo star Dwayne De Rosario tallying the only goals for the MLS side.
The game opened with a bang, as Macheda led the scoring off with a goal just 24 seconds into the match. Ching was able to tie the game later in the first half, but the All Stars would allow four more goals in the second half before De Rosario added a consolation goal in the 90th minute.
The game was played in front of a record crowd of 70,728 people, the largest amount to ever watch a soccer game at Reliant Stadium. It was also the fourth largest crowd to watch an All Star game in American sports history.
