Battle of the Piney Woods 2010

The first Battle of the Piney Woods at Reliant Stadium was an exciting, high scoring affair that wasn’t decided until the final minutes, but the Lumberjacks pulled out the victory in the rivalry’s 85th meeting.

SFA’s Jeremy Moses became the Southland Conference’s all time leader in total offense after throwing for 418 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Moses’ favorite target was wide receiver Cordell Roberson, who caught 5 balls for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Tim Flanders led the Sam Houston offense with 100 yards on 23 carries while also adding two touchdowns.

The crowd of 24,685 set a new Battle of the Piney Woods attendance record.
