JAMEY ROOTES, PRESIDENT
Jamey Rootes serves as President of Lone Star Sports & Entertainment and is responsible for all business functions of LSSE. Rootes is also President of the Houston Texans. Rootes has been with LSSE and the Texans for nine years and has been in the professional sports industry for many years.
Under Rootes’ leadership, LSSE has become a premier event services company, producing record-breaking soccer events and the Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium, among other events.

Jamey Rootes serves as President of Lone Star Sports & Entertainment (LSSE), a sports management agency associated with the Texans.
LSSE has been a catalyst for some of Houston’s most significant sporting events, especially in soccer. LSSE hosted the 2003 U.S. vs. Mexico soccer match which set a soccer attendance record for Texas and caused U.S. Soccer to recognize NRG Stadium with the Best Soccer Crowd in America award.
More recently, LSSE has hosted America’s largest crowds for InterLiga in 2004-2006, Gold Cup in 2005 and then set a new Texas soccer record in 2006 with Barcelona on Tour. This success led to the establishment of Houston’s new Major League Soccer franchise, the Houston Dynamo in 2006.
Outside of soccer, LSSE manages the AdvoCare Texas Bowl, Houston’s only collegiate bowl game. In 2006, the Texas Bowl generated almost $30 million in economic impact which is comparable to premier bowl games like the Alamo, Gator and Cotton Bowls. The game attracted a NRG Stadium bowl record crowd of 52,210, placing the Texas Bowl in the top-ten among non-BCS bowls for ticket revenue.
Also, the Bowl’s charity partner, Depelchin Children’s Centers received a check for $50,000 to support their important work with the youth and families of the Houston Area. Throughout the year, LSSE represents the marketing rights of the Shell Houston Open and other events in the Houston area.
Jamey Rootes serves as President of the Houston Texans and is responsible for all business functions of the club. Since joining the Texans, Rootes has overseen the team’s efforts to secure stadium naming rights and sponsorship, coordinated radio and TV broadcasting relationships, engineered the club’s successful ticket and suite sales campaigns, led creation and launch of the team’s identity, and developed the team’s highly-acclaimed customer service strategy.
Under Rootes’ leadership the Texans have earned many distinctions, including the American Marketing Association’s “Crystal Award” for the best overall marketing campaign. J.D. Power & Associates recognized the team for providing the best fan experience in the NFL and even featured the Texans as a service success story in their recent book entitled Satisfaction. Also, the Texans were recognized with Sports Business Journal’s PRISM Award, which is given annually to the top major league professional sports team based on business excellence criteria. In 2003, the Texans were also named by Sports Business Journal asthe best sports start-up over a five-year period. In 2006, the Texans extended their sell-out streak to 50 consecutive home games, a Houston NFL record and a testament to the consistent quality of service and entertainment provided by the organization on gameday. As a result, the Texans have consistently been recognized as one of the most valuable professional sports franchises both in the NFL and globally, as measured by a variety of business publications.
Rootes was selected twice by Sports Business Journal as a member of their distinguished “Forty Under 40” list of leading sports executives. Also, Rootes maintains an active role in the community and serves on a number of boards, including the United Way of Greater Houston and the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Prior to joining the Houston Texans, Rootes helped to launch Major League Soccer as President and General Manager of the Columbus Crew. During his tenure, the Crew was consistently among the league’s strongest teams both on and off the field and Rootes was recognized as Executive of the Year in 1996 and Marketing Executive of the Year in 1999. Rootes helped lead the construction of Crew Stadium in 1999, which was the first stadium of its type in America. This facility earned distinction as America’s Foremost Sports Facility of the Year.
A native of Stone Mountain, Ga., Rootes attended Clemson University and was a member of the Tigers’ soccer team that captured two NCAA titles and served as Student Body President. While earning an MBA at Indiana University, he served as an assistant soccer coach for the Hoosiers. Rootes previously held positions at IBM and Procter & Gamble before entering sports.
Rootes lives in West University with his wife, Melissa, and their children, Christopher and Caroline.
DAVID FLETCHER, GENERAL MANAGER, LONE STAR SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ADVOCARE V100 TEXAS BOWL
David Fletcher became Executive Director of the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl and AdvoCare Texas Kickoff as well as the Director of Lone Star Sports & Entertainment on January 1, 2014. He was promoted to General Manager of Lone Star Sports & Entertainment on April 1, 2016. He has built extensive relationships and developed a proven track record of creating successful sports marketing events and partnerships with Fortune 500 companies at entities including media rights holders, collegiate properties and professional sports teams.
David joined the NFL’s Houston Texans in June 2010. Prior to leading LSSE and the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl, he most recently served as the Director of Corporate Development and Broadcast Sales of the Texans, overseeing a number of the team’s major corporate partnerships while helping to build and manage one of the largest in-house media platforms in the NFL. In October 2012, he added the responsibility of the same role with Lone Star Sports & Entertainment leading local corporate sales efforts for the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl and AdvoCare Texas Kickoff. David started his career as intern with the Houston Texans in 2002 and followed with positions at Clear Channel Radio and the NBA’s Houston Rockets before returning to the Texans in 2010.
A native of Houston, David is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and currently lives in Missouri City with his wife, Sara, and their children, Sydney and Will.
BLAINE FOREMAN, SENIOR EVENT & OPERATIONS MANAGER
Blaine Foreman joined LSSE in September of 2015 after working with the Houston Texans for two seasons as a Partnership Marketing Coordinator. In his role as Events & Operations Manager, he manages all of the gameday and team operations for the AdvoCare Kick-off and AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl.
Before joining the Houston Texans & LSSE, Blaine worked for Georgia IMG Sports Marketing as an Account Executive in 2012. He began his career as an Intern with Texas A&M Sports Properties (Learfield Sports) from 2008 – 2010, and then took a position with Chick-fil-A as a Marketing Director in College Station, TX.
A native of Port Neches, TX, Blaine is a proud member of the Texas A&M University class of 2009. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. He currently lives in Houston, TX with his wife Rene’.
LAUREN BOONE, MARKETING COORDINATOR
In her role as Marketing Coordinator, Lauren manages all marketing and creative aspects for LSSE events including event websites, social media accounts and all other digital communication. She is responsible for creating print, digital and other creative advertisements and sales collateral for LSSE events.
Lauren found her passion for the sports industry in the summer of 2013 when working as a Houston Texans Corporate Development Intern for Training Camp. Afterwards she went on to work as an intern for the Round Rock Express as a member of the marketing and events department called the Street Team. She then found her way back to the Texans as the Year-Long Ticketing Intern before being promoted to her current roles as Marketing Coordinator for Lone Star Sports & Entertainment.
A native Houstonian, Lauren attended Episcopal High School and then Southwestern University, where she graduated in December of 2014. She has duel degrees in Business and Spanish, and was a member of Southwestern’s NCAA DIII Women’s Golf Team all four years.
LAUREN BREZGER, EVENT COORDINATOR
As Events Coordinator, Lauren manages Bowl Week events, oversees the Board of Directors, and coordinates all charity and volunteer activities. She also oversees all fan-focused promotional items and merchandise needs for LSSE events.
Prior to joining LSSE, Lauren worked as the Ticketing Intern for NFL’s Houston Texans, assisting with customer service for all season ticket members. She found her passion and love for sports working in the Texas A&M Athletic Department as a student athletic trainer for the Women’s Soccer Team, Women’s Basketball Team, and Football Team from 2012-2015.
A Houston native, Lauren attended Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart. She went on to graduate from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a License of Athletic Training.
BRI WILLIAMS, EVENT COORDINATOR
In her role as Events Coordinator, Bri manages Bowl Week events, oversees hotel hospitality room planning and execution, and coordinates LSSE event and marketing activations. She also is responsible for coordinating the Gridiron Legends program and family events throughout the season.
Prior to joining LSEE, Bri found her passion for sports as a Marketing Intern at the University of Texas Athletic Department. She then joined the Houston Texans as a member of the Battle Red Stampede Event Staff where she assisted with the execution of programs and events that promoted the Club and its corporate partners.
A native of Dallas, Bri is a proud member of the University of Texas at Austin class of 2016. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications and concentrations in both Business and Sports Media.
SEAN MATHEWS, PARTNERSHIP MARKETING COORDINATOR
At LSSE, Sean oversees all fulfillment activities for corporate sponsorship and media partner accounts as provided in contractual agreements. He also works with each corporate sponsor on how to best align their allotted contractual elements to achieve designated sponsor goal objectives.
Prior to joining LSSE, Sean worked as a Graduate Assistant at Sam Houston State University. In addition, he found his passion for working in sports during his three internships with the Frisco RoughRiders, Lake Erie College Athletic Department, and Florida Collegiate Summer League.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Sean attended Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio were he pursued a dual degree in Sport Management and Business Administration. While at Lake Erie, he also played for the NCAA DII Men’s Baseball team. Upon graduating from Lake Erie College in 2015, he then received a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from Sam Houston State University in 2017.
