OFFICIAL START TIMES TO ALL 2016 COPA AMERICA CENTENARIO MATCHES ANNOUNCED

The Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announced today the start times for all 2016 Copa America Centenario matches, including the two group stage and semifinal matches at NRG Stadium.

The tournament will begin in Houston on Saturday, June 11, when Colombia and Costa Rica face off at 8 p.m. CT in Group A action. The second group match in Houston will take place on Monday, June 13 between Mexico and Venezuela at 7 p.m. CT. The Semifinal match held on Tuesday, June 21 will kick off at 8 p.m. CT at NRG Stadium.

Early response from fans has been strong, and the local organizing committee encourages fans to purchase their Venue Passes early to ensure the best seats. Tickets to the Copa America Centenario are available by visiting CA2016.com. Fans have until Friday, March 4 at 11:59 p.m. local venue times to purchase Venue Passes and be eligible for the lottery to buy tickets to the Copa America Centenario Final.

Copa America Centenario will be televised around the world, and on the Univision Network and FOX family of networks in the United States. Full TV schedule is expected at a later date.

MATCHUPS SET AT NRG STADIUM FOR HISTORIC 2016 COPA AMERICA CENTENARIO IN JUNE

HOUSTON (Feb. 21, 2016) NRG Stadium will host 2 first round match-ups during the Copa America Centenario, starting on June 11. The first match-up will be Colombia vs. Costa Rica on June 11. The second on June 13 will see Mexico take on Venezuela.

NRG Stadium will also host a SEMI-FINAL match on June 21 during the once-in-a-lifetime tournament.

The groups and full match schedule were set for the 2016 Copa America Centenario after the Official Draw was conducted at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City this evening. The entire tournament will take place from June 3-26 across 10 cities in the United States.

Tickets Go On Sale February 3 for Historic 2016 Copa America Centenario

First-Phase Buyers will be Entered into Lottery for Priority Access

The Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announced today that tickets for the 2016 Copa America Centenario will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, February 3 at 12 p.m. local time in each of the 10 venues. Fans can purchase tickets at CA2016.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.

All fans who purchase Venue Passes during the first phase of ticket sales will be entered into a lottery for priority access to purchase tickets to the Copa America Centenario Final on June 26 at MetLife Stadium. Due to the expected high demand for this premium soccer tournament, fans are urged to purchase early to guarantee their tickets. The first phase of the public Venue Pass sales will end on Feb. 19 at 12 pm ET.

Similar to the World Cup, Copa America Centenario tickets in the first phase will be sold as Venue Passes, which includes a ticket to all the matches played in one particular venue.

The soccer community, including professional soccer team season ticket holders, will have exclusive pre-sale access starting the week of January 25. Members of the soccer community are urged to contact their pro club for more information.

2016 Copa America Centenario Draw to be Held in New York City on February 21

Fans Invited to Participate in Globally-Televised Event Live from Hammerstein Ballroom in Midtown New York

The Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announced today that the 2016 Copa America Centenario Draw will take place on Sunday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET, at the famed Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The Draw will be televised live on Univision in the United States.

The Copa America Centenario, a once-in-a-lifetime soccer summer event, which honors 100 years of the Copa America tournament, will feature some of the world’s best teams and players competing from June 3-26, 2016, across the United States. The tournament will feature the top star players from both regions, including Lionel Messi, Neymar, David Luiz, James Rodriguez, Kaka, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey and many more. The final will be played at MetLife Stadium, in the metropolitan New York City area, on June 26.

In true celebration of the fans, the Copa America Centenario will welcome fans to attend and be part of the festivities at the official draw. Details on how to be selected to experience the draw live will be shared at a later date. The gala event will feature former stars of the world’s game from around the hemisphere. At the Draw, the four groups  headed by host United States, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico  will be filled out by the remaining 12 participating nations providing the full schedule of match-ups. The seeding determination for the Draw is based on the December 2015 FIFA World Rankings. Details of groups and procedures for the draw will be announced in the days leading up to the event.

GROUP SEEDS AND GAME DATES ANNOUNCED FOR HISTORIC 2016 COPA AMERICA CENTENARIO

Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the United States Head the Four Groups in the Tournament; Seeded Nations to Visit Nine of the 10 Host Markets in Group Play

CHICAGO (Dec. 17, 2015) – Group seeds and game dates for the historic 2016 Copa America Centenario have been announced, per tournament organizers. The once-in-a-lifetime soccer summer event, which honors 100 years of the Copa America tournament, will feature some of the world’s best teams and players competing from June 3-26, 2016, in the United States.

As the host nation, the United States earns the Group A seed, while Argentina, as the highest FIFA-ranked nation in the Americas (per December FIFA rankings), will be seeded top of Group D.

In celebration of the rich soccer tradition in the hemisphere and as the most decorated nations in the last 100 years in international competitions from their respective confederations, the national teams of Brazil and Mexico have also been awarded group seeds, and will head Groups B and C, respectively.

The remaining 12 participating nations will be sorted into the four groups in early 2016 based on a public draw. Details of groups and procedures for the draw will be announced leading up to that event.

In announcing the seeded teams, organizers also revealed the dates of matches, including the cities each seeded nation will visit, as well as the dates they will play during the group phase of the tournament.

Recently, the LOC announced the 10 U.S. metropolitan areas that have been selected to host matches during the Copa America Centenario, with MetLife Stadium announced as the host of the Copa America Centenario Final on Sunday, June 26 in the New York metropolitan area. Similar to the FIFA World Cup, each venue will host matches on multiple days through the tournament. Most venues will host at least three games.

The United States will be visiting Santa Clara, Calif. (June 3) to kick-off the tournament, before visiting Chicago (June 7) and Philadelphia (June 11). Argentina will head to Santa Clara (June 6), Chicago (June 10) and Seattle (June 14). Brazil will travel to Pasadena (June 4), Orlando (June 8) and Foxborough (June 12), and Mexico will play its group matches in Phoenix (June 5), Pasadena (June 9) and Houston (June 13).

Seattle, New York/New Jersey, Foxborough and Santa Clara will all host quarterfinal matches, while Houston and Chicago will be site of the two tournament semifinals.
